WAR WAR WAR

The United States Declaration of War is more concerned with itself, the people, and government. On the other hand the German's response to the United States is they are so concerned with us and blockades they might come across or build.

Governments Secrets on the Loose!

By: Julia Gojlewicz

I believe the governments around the world should be truthful and honest, no matter how hard it might be, they should always be open about their issues and policies with us. WikiLeaks, a non-profit organisation that publishes unavailable documents from anonymous sources, posts videos of the dishonestly our government is pursuing. As much as I believe our government should be open, I do not think people should be publishing their activities without their knowledge of doing so.  "My convictions are unfaltering. I remain true to the ideals I have expressed. This circumstance shall not shake them. If anything this process has increased my determination that they are true and correct. We now know that Visa, MasterCard, PayPal and others are instruments of U.S. foreign policy. It’s not something we knew before. I am calling for the world to protect my work and my people from these illegal and immoral attacks," words from the founder of WikiLeaks; Julian Assange. Back when you lost your teeth as a child remember putting your teeth under a pillow? Remember the thrill of excitement you got in the morning finding that quarter or dollar bill in exchange that the Tooth Fairy had left for you. Now picture finding the truth that no special winged lady came to your bedroom that night. Sometimes the truth is better kept a secret.

Trench Warefare!

By the looks of the trailer for Gallipoli, it seems like the reason that the Great War (World War I) had the most deaths, was because, they used Trench Warfare. Trench Warfare; when opposing sides occupy trenches; usually very bloody, miserable, and endless.

I actually did a project on this two years ago and rein-acted it.

Boom Boom BANG.

I think Dogfight is a HORRIBLE method. Having to fly a plane AND shoot someone at the same time. Yeah... NO THANKS. I barley lasted 20 seconds playing that game, I can only imagine what it was like in real life. Unlike this video game you can not restart and try again one you died. You are actually dead, gone, done for.

Waitin' for the Love of a Travelin' Soldier...

Communicating today is much different then back in World War I. With only a letter for commuincation to their loved ones you never know if they are okay or not. Soldiers would die and send letters right before passing away, and their family would have no idea, thinking they are still fine from the letter they got just days before. A huge struggle for these soldiers was having the time to write out these letters and sending them. I did look at the letters and its horrible knowing many of them never came home, as they had promised they would. I believe the song Travelin' Soldier by The Dixie Chicks is a perfect example of the struggles with letters and loved ones the soldiers had.

So they went down and they sat on the pier
He said I bet you got a boyfriend but I don't care
I got no one to send a letter to
Would you mind if I sent one back here to you

So the letters came from an army camp
In California then Vietnam
And he told her of his heart
It might be love and all of the things he was so scared of
He said when it's getting kinda rough over here
I think of that day sittin' down at the pier
And I close my eyes and see your pretty smile
Don't worry but I won't be able to write for awhile

One Friday night at a football game
The Lord's Prayer said and the Anthem sang
A man said folks would you bow your heads
For a list of local Vietnam dead
Crying all alone under the stands
Was a piccolo player in the marching band
And one name read but nobody really cared

On the Couch Vs In another Country. Take Your Pick

I do not believe video games cause violence, games like Call of Duty should be allowed to exist because it is educating everyone who plays it and letting them have fun at the same time. Honestly american history classes would be smart to have students play games like this while teaching them about world war I.  Call of Duty even encourages players to join the army and help fight for our rights. Although in real life we do not have a "reset button," video games should not be putting into players heads that they do. I do not believe that by playing you should just go out and kill others, but I do not think it persuades you to do such in any way.
For example, some of the nicest and kind hearted people I know play video games all the time, mainly Call of Duty and Halo. These kids would NEVER in a million years do anything to harm someone in reality. Truth is, they can go crazy while playing the game, yelling and screaming is necessary for them to have fun. I can generate you if you take away that controller you will see a whole different person right before your eyes.
